A tiny, very unappealing space became a great opportunity for a couple who wanted to create a true “home away from home” with an eye toward green design.

Construction Duration: 3 months

The apartment size was comparable to a hotel room, but with the acquisition of the public hall space “entrance” we were able to separate the apartment entrance from the studio itself, as well as add much needed closet space. We demolished the former bathroom, relocated the waste fixtures and opened up the bath space to create a normal bathroom with storage/shelving built into a very thick wall between the bathroom and kitchen. Using pocket doors and considering every spec of space, we were able to transform a very tight space into a fully functioning kitchen and studio! It is a great challenge and complement to be able to exceed client’s expectations with an environment that they love living in.. regardless of size!!
