Pre-War Apartment Renovations

250 W 94th St, NYC

Construction Duration: 3 1/2 months

Complete Gut Renovation: DOB permit required for a 2-bedroom, 1 and 1/2-bath Prewar apartment in estate condition. This Prewar restoration project involved creating a spacious open-concept kitchen, dining, and living room by removing walls between the kitchen and living room, opening doorways, and adding and modifying closets. We upgraded the electrical system to 100 AMPs to meet modern needs.

A key feature of the renovation was the addition of glass double-depth storage over the peninsula, which further opened up the space between the kitchen and the dining/living areas. We also included a washer and dryer, along with the bonus of a true powder room off the kitchen—perfect for daily convenience. To finish off the design, the dark original floors were beautifully refinished, adding the perfect touch to this Residential NYC transformation.

The Result

Paula McDonald Design Build & Interiors Prewar construction and restoration has truly elevated the space, blending modern functionality with classic Prewar charm.
