About Us

The concept of providing a complete, full service solution for construction needs is not novel. But, it was a natural fit to expand Pier Head Associates' construction services to include the complete design, supply and construction of projects with a white glove signature of style. With over 20 years of creative, financial disciplines and hands on construction experience in New York City and Suburban renovations, including the subdivision of raw land for new construction in coastal access zoning areas, Paula’s approach has consistently delivered beautiful spaces and finished detailing, rapid production, controlled costs and finished product deliverables meeting and exceeding her clients’ expectations. The platform of consistent quality and service with Pier Head’s traditional construction services, coupled with Paula’s existing business and material resources as a strategic partner, PMD Development LLC, launched the foundation of Pier Head DesignBuild.

Our services include residential design, lobby interiors and related spaces including hospitality due to their complex finishing requirements. We offer both a unique perspective and approach: to provide financial and timing accountability with a holistic view of what is desired, without gaps between the disciplines. The current residential building practice in New York with some exceptions, depends on the separation of trades and services from architectural services to general contractors, subcontractors and material vendors. This can be attributed to the cottage nature of the construction industry as well as project scope. Design and specification omissions, errors, the separate organization structure, and concept versus field installation constraints drive change orders, up charges, longer delivery and construction timelines… not to mention costs.

Through Pier Head DesignBuild, Paula offers the vertical integration of the design, supply and building process as a preferred solution for simplifying the complex and difficult building/renovation experience. Our project volume enables consistency in our dedicated crews.
